University of Houston Cougars Finish in the Top 10

Associated Press and USA Today both rank Cougars No. 8

The final Associated Press Top 25 college football poll was released this morning. The University of Houston Cougars finish in the Top 10 at No. 8.

This season’s ranking is the Houston Cougars’ best ranking in 36 years! In the 1979 season, the team ranked No. 5, after going 11-1.

The University of Houston has been ranked in the Top 10 seven times now: 1973 (No. 9), 1976 (No. 4), 1978 (No. 10), 1979 (No. 5), 1990 (10th), and 2015 (No. 8).

The Houston Cougars were also ranked in the Top 10 at No. 8 in the final USA Today Amway coaches poll. The team had the biggest rise in ranking of any team this season, rising eight places.
